The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently traveling to the Fernie 2 Community Hall in Mpuluzi to render services into the community.

SASSA will probably be rendering companies including new social grant applications, change of payment method, client care enquiries, plus the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.

In a press release, the agency stated it can be alarmed with regards to the higher amount of people depending on social grants for survival.
“The goal on the Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out to your high number of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.

“This is often a result of the lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there's no absolutely functional office devoted to service the area on a daily basis. The services stage developed for intervention encounters a higher influx of potential beneficiaries, that makes it tricky for that office to attend to all people who pay a visit to a service point.

“In this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise a lot more resources to help the servicing sassa status of all prospects and raise use of Social Assistance providers,” the agency said.
